An Etiquette for Epidemics?
In this brief overview, Mary Mitchell, president of The Mitchell Organization, explains the essential etiqueete tips for epidemics. Despite all the buzz, information and "dis" information about the H1N1 or swine flu, here are a few things you can do to protect yourself and others from getting sick.
We should all follow these simple rules:
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue away after using it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. You may also use alcohol-based hand cleaners.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, to limit getting infected by germs.
- Avoid close contact with people who have the flu or flu-like symptoms.
- If you do get sick, consider staying home from work or school.
You can now employ additional precautions, in business and social environments, to protect yourself and those around you. There is proper etiquette for everything!
