The heavy clouds may have started to pass but there are still challenges ahead for individuals, organizations and businesses across all professions.

Are you tired of waiting for something to happen?

Or are you ready to take things into your own hands?

At ULiveandLearn our partners are ready to help you move ahead with confidence. Three free webcasts offer fresh approaches to organizational learning, sustainable change management and maximization of your professional brand. For the first time, educators and administrators from all educational sectors can participate in a three-part series that offers immediate opportunities for using powerful engagement and communication for the most difficult challenges facing educators.

All programs offer active learning and personal instruction, extensive resources and ongoing networking opportunities. Can’t attend this program? ULiveandLearn makes all webcasts available on-demand after the live program date. With your registration, not only will you receive the same presentation and program resources as our "live" attendees, you will also be able to access this recording as often as you want for 90 days!

A New Paradigm for Organizational Learning

Traditional learning and development models are based on a deep-seated and often unquestioned assumption – that individuals, families, communities, and societies function in linear ways. As a result, we plan a program, implement it, and expect our desired outcome to emerge. If – and more often, when – it doesn’t, we blame the materials, the training, or the people, change something, and try it again, often with the same results.

The work of Adaptive Patterns Consulting, specially the Complex Adaptive Learning model focuses on the learning process itself – the patterns of learning -- as much as the subject being taught. APC’s point of view is that is that the pattern of learning (“learning how to fish”) is ultimately more useful in this age of rapidly expanding knowledge and technology than the subject matter (“the fish”) being taught. Complex Adaptive Learning views the theory and practice of learning – whether by individuals, teams, functions, organizations, communities, or societies as a complex process – one governed by different principles than are typically associated with traditional training and deorganizationavelopment.

Join Denise Easton and Larry Solow, co-founders of Adaptive Patterns Consulting on Nov. 17, 2009 at 12 p.m. Eastern for a free overview of their model.

The Upside to Downsizing

In these complex times, sustainability means flexibility. And, unfortunately, flexibility often means having to downsize. The more we and our clients walk the path toward a flexible work force, the more we need to rethink how to walk with humanity and hope.

This free, one-hour webinar introduces you to fundamental principles of human systems dynamics, and demonstrates how those principles can shape supportive, productive, creative, and promising experiences in the midst of RIFs (Reduction in Force), layoffs, and furloughs. In this course, you will learn ways to:

  • Help individuals, teams, and organizations prepare for change

  • Support the deciders, the leavers, and the stayers through uncertain times
  • Maintain your own balance and perspective in the face of the unexpected

Join Glenda Eoyang, founding Executive Director of the Human Systems Dynamics Institute for a free one-hour online workshop Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. Eastern.

From Painful to Powerful:
Establish Patterns of Productive Conversations

In days of tighter resources, growing demands, and increased pressure, conflict often breaks out, bringing even greater challenges into work relationships. Difficulties you thought were resolved, friction that seemed ever-present, and misunderstandings around intent and outcomes can explode around you. Not only do they negatively affect morale, they also reduce productivity and effectiveness. Painful communications and chronic conflict get in the way of important work every day.

Join Royce Holladay, a long-time teacher, counselor, and district administrator, who works with educators around the country to break the pattern of havoc created by conflict and missed communications, for this important series. Now, as a consultant using Human Systems Dynamics in a wide variety of settings and situations, Royce will help participants understand and use tools to move from painful communications to positive, productive and powerful engagements.

The series of three 90-minute sessions is $399 for a site or individual access. A site access allows for a broadcast to a roomful of participants using a digital projector. A facilitator's guide is also available at no additional charge. Think about it: three sessions of high quality training at one low price AND a chance to increase communication skills, reduce conflict, and improve relationships.

This is NOT a webinar. Participants will interact using the latest virtual technology and adult learning techniques to begin to create possibilities that drive transformation and create stronger organizations and communities.

The series will be offered on Nov. 18, Dec. 2, and Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. Eastern.

Using eLearning and Social Learning to Extend Your Brand

In the new world of publishing, it's no longer enough to write great books. To have a competitive advantage today, authors must also promote and sell their own books. Accepting this new reality, learning how to do this, and creating a compelling and sustainable relationship with readers is what makes the difference.

Your knowledge capital has been turned into a book and now your readers (audience) want more. You can leverage and extend the knowledge capital and learning potential of the book with live and on-demand, Web-enhanced programs. Using a flexible and dynamic model for creating learning and professional development content for online distribution, one book can be "extended" into a comprehensive menu of interactive, collaborative and adaptive programs.

Join Denise Easton, CEO of ULiveandLearn, on Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. Eastern for this free workshop, presented in conjunction with Berrett-Koehler Authors Cooperative. Register Now
